Sleepy Gwen

What a good sleeper we have! Gwen slept from 7:50pm to 8:00am last night and is in the middle of an hour nap right now! She must have been tired out by the two days she spent with Grandpa Steve!

Grandpa's (and Gwen's) Birthday!

Last night we went to C.I. Shenanigans Restaurant in Tacoma to celebrate Grandpa Ryan's birthday. All the O'Donnells were there! (Except the ones that weren't, of course.) Thelma, Jack, Connie, Sara, Ethan, Chris, Myself, and Gwen. Everything was delicious! Gwen had such a good time with everyone - the waitstaff included. But I think she had the most fun with her Aunt Sara who walked with her and read to her all night.

Gwen was so tired she is still sleeping right now! (8:30 is majorly sleeping in for my little early bird) She and Daddy are going to have fun this morning because I got called for a sub position. It will be my first day as a teacher! Well, a substitute teacher in the resource room. I am only working for a few hours and then Gwen and I are on a mission to find a good daycare on Mercer Island or maybe Bellevue so that Daddy doesn't have to watch her whenever I work (kind of defeats the purpose of two people working).

We do have two excellent grandparents who have volunteered to help out, unfortunately, neither one will move to Mercer Island so I need someone for these last minute calls. Times like these I wish that Chris wasn't doing so well here and we could move down south :). But he is kicking butt, so I guess we have to stay.

Lopez Island

A few weeks ago, we went to a golf tournament on Lopez Island with Nana, Popi, Grandma Connie, and Grandpa Ryan. We had a great time, even though the weather wasn't that great. Here are some pictures Grandma Connie took!

Seattle Aquarium

On Monday Gwen and I decided to go to story time at the Seattle Central Library in downtown Seattle. We had to get out of the house because Colby had brought another bird into the house, but this one was still alive! So I locked the bird in the bathroom with the window open, hoping it would be gone by the time we got back. Well, we took the bus downtown and it wasn't until I tried to open the door to the library that I realized it was Columbus Day (actually Chris called at that moment and told me it was Columbus Day). My Dad was going to be in the area in a couple of hours, so we decided to go to the aquarium to kill some time. Since Gwen is walking so well I let her wander on her own for the most part (I was a couple feet behind her). Her favorite part of the entire aquarium was the "ring of life" where the jellyfish float around in a huge donut-like thing and light changes color. She laid on it and kissed it... I tried to get a video, but it was too dark. We also saw the otters (we actually got to see them eating breakfast!) and she called them "kitties". What a smart baby! The video isn't very good, it was too dark to get most of the stuff, but here it is.

The Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch with Ryan and Elise. The highlight for me were the carmel apples! We found a nice little pumpkin for Gwen. She went to another pumpkin patch with Grandma Susan and Uncle Cole a couple weeks ago and got a good "mommy pumpkin". When we go to the pumpkin patch with Aunt Sara and Uncle Ethan Chris is going to look for a "daddy pumpkin" so our pumpkin family will be complete. The family will look great on the balcony of our new apartment! Here are some pictures and videos from our day. Sorry about the lack of editing!

GAP Baby Model Contest

GAP is having a modeling contest for babies and kids. We entered Gwen and if she is chosen as one of the top five baby girls, we will need you all to vote for her on-line. This won't be until December, but keep your fingers crossed until then! Here are the pictures we sent in. Isn't she adorable?
